The Pennsylvania Medical Society wants to help both individuals and organizations meet the stringent requirements for obtaining CME credits and offering CME programming. Our Commission on Continuing Medical Education reviews scores of individual programs and oversees the accreditation of CME providers in Pennsylvania. We offer our members education, information, and resources to meet the CME requirements set by the state government and by credentialers like insurance companies and hospitals.
ACCME Reaccredits Pennsylvania Medical Society
The Pennsylvania Medical Society’s program to accredit other CME providers has earned a six-year reaccreditation.
The Pennsylvania Medical Society’s program to accredit other CME providers has earned a six-year reaccreditation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The State Society was recognized with commendation and received exemplary compliance in four of five areas reviewed by the ACCME. The Pennsylvania Medical Society currently accredits 63 CME providers throughout Pennsylvania and accredits approximately 140 direct and joint-sponsored CME activities each year.
Online resources are available for hospitals and institutions interested in receiving accreditation for their organization from the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
Earn 60 Credits for Completion of ABMS Board Certification or MOC Process
Physicians now have the opportunity to earn 60
AMA-PRA Category I Credits™ for successfully completing Parts 1 through 4 of an American Board of Medical Specialties board certification or Maintenance of Certification process
To claim this credit, physicians must complete a direct credit application and send it to the American Medical Association (AMA). A copy of the board certificate or specialty board notification letter must accompany the application, along with the required processing fee.
